May 2021 IPSY Glam Bag Plus Unboxing

Hey hey, it’s MJ,

I just finished writing my May Glam Bag post, if you want to read that; go check it out. I am trying to get a number of posts written in one sitting so I don’t drift off the train again because one of my goals for this year was two posts a week and I haven’t kept that goal very well. I am going to try really hard, I promise.

So the story with this bag is crazy, I got it nearer to the latter end of May, which is weird because usually my GB+ shows up first. Last month it did not, clearly. So when I got it I opened it up and it only had 4 items in it, so I had to email them (which they are super nice like all the time) and asked them to send me a replacement for the eyeshadow palette I was supposed to get with my bag. It finally showed up on the 2nd (I am writing this on the 4th for context) to no fault of IPSY for the shipping, that’s always a crap shoot.

The Bag:

It’s a drawstring version of the Glam Bag and I am kind of loving the drawstring bags, I use several of mine for many different things around my apartment or in travel. I am babysitting my parent’s dogs (they actually get back the day this goes up) so I used one of them to carry all of my bullet journal pens and things. It worked out really well and that means I don’t have to carry several bundles of pens in my backpack.

More importantly, what did I get? All of them were pretty much pink, which I don’t know if that was planned for mother’s day or not but I kind of loved the aesthetic of all of it.

The Products:

Ahava Mineral Hand Cream in Cactus Pink Pepper:

I love Ahava, that is for sure no secret. The nail salon I worked in when I was in high school sold Ahava so I used it like all the time. I love their mineral hand cream and Frasier Fir was one of my fave scents back in the day. I was going to Google their old line up and I got a lot of stuff that has nothing to do with their products. This is why I don’t Google things. I do really enjoy their products and I am looking forward to using this one.

Shaina B Miami B Fab Brush Set:

I love brushes but I am getting to the point where I have too many brushes, that is nothing against the brand. I like the brushes themselves but I have so many brushes. The brushes themselves feel amazing and I plan on leaving them at my parents place so I can use them when I come if I have to. I love the fact that they are hot pink and that the logo is flamingos because who doesn’t love a good flamingo?

Violet Voss Windflower Fun Sized Palette:

Whenever I hear windflower I think of mt Animal Crossing island, that was mt native flower so of course I like that. This was the product that was not in my bag the first time around so it had to be shipped to me. I love a good fun sized palette because they are great to travel with. I like the shades and the packaging is amazing, I am a sucker for good packaging on pretty much anything. That is really not a secret and I don’t think it’s ever been so we are going to roll with it.

Ofra Cosmetics Pressed Blush in Rose:

Who doesn’t love a good blush, this is a huge full pan of blush and the color is actually pretty good for my skin tom. I was excited about that because I picked this one. I just got to savor the peely on the mirror, there is just something so satisfying about that. I just had a tiny friend wake up and walk over to as I am trying to type this there is a poodle with her front foot on my leg. Just some context into my life at the moment. I have never been disappointed at an Ofra product and their highlighters are some of my favorites in my collection.

Cleo + Coco Charcoal Deoderant in Great Expectations:

It’s grapefruit and bergamot scented, I almost said flavored, I am not going to find out what it tastes like. I picked this one as well because the last time I used an aluminum free deodorant it didn’t work real well and it gave me a chemical burn (in all fairness it was because it wasn’t working so I put on my regular deodorant over it and it did not work out too well), not fun. I am looking forward to using this because I want to give aluminum free another chance. It has mixed reviews but I am hoping it works for me and doesn’t make me feel gross.

So there you have it, my May GB+, I really liked this month’s items when I got everything. I am looking forward to the June bag because it has some really promising products in it and I am really excited for it.

If you want to read the rest of my GB+ posts from this year, you can! January, February, March and April!

I will see everyone mid-week with another post, so until then, stay happy and healthy!

            -MJ
