What Was in My January 2020 ipsy Glam Bag?

Hey hey, it’s MJ,

I still can’t believe it is already 2020 and because I am not sure when this post is going up, hopefully it is still January when this actually goes live, (by my calculations it should be unless something goes wrong.) but I am here to open and give my thoughts on my first Glam Bag of the year, my Glam Bag Plus post is already live if you want to see how I felt about that; let’s just say that I was more excited about my Glam Bag than its larger offering this month.

I loved the bag, this is now one of my favorites because it is marble and almost feels like a pleather or vinyl and I really like the bag over all. I will say this ipsy has six or seven bag styles and continues to make really cool new options using the same templates. I love the combination of the white and grey marble and the pink hardware, great combination.

In a side note about this bag I for sure got the tracking email after the bag was already in my possession, I don’t know what’s going on with their tracking email system but that’s ridiculous.

So what did I get in my bag this month?

Luxie Beauty- 560 Medium Fan Flawless Brush

So I have a few Luxie beauty brushes and I like them well enough, I am hoping that this fan brush is better than some that I already have, I don’t think you need more than one but I find myself now owning like half a dozen, in most cases that wouldn’t bother me but some of them just aren’t all that great for what I want them for. I am hoping that this one is different. With this one the brush guard is hard to move which in most cases again, great, but not when you are wanting to get it off. The brush feels nice, not to stiff and not too flimsy so I am hopeful on this one.

Context Skin- Liquid Lacquer in Mad Love

Confession time, I am not a huge fan of lacquer products because like glosses they can be sticky, and this one while on the sticky and kind of heavy side; I’m not mad at, it doesn’t seem to be like cement, (I know, it is five AM and I have lip lacquer on as I write this post) which I am thankful for. It’s actually a really nice shade as well, in the tube I wasn’t sure about it but on the lips I kind of love it. It does dry down a little bit which I think helps it out a little bit more in my book because it does decrease the sticky feeling just a tad as well.

Banila Co- Clean it Zero Cleansing Balm

Alright, so with this one. It is a rarity that I use a “cleansing balm” and I am not sure how I feel about the idea of a cleansing balm in general so I will for sure give this one a try but I can’t guarantee that I will enjoy it as much as I enjoy a regular gel or cream cleanser but I am willing to give it the benefit of the doubt and maybe I will find my new favorite cleanser. Who knows.

Pür- 4 in 1 Pressed Powder in shade Porcelain

I was shocked that this one was actually a pretty good color match to my skin tone, it is a little on the yellow side so I would have to use it as a pressed powder not a powder foundation but it’s a relatively nice size for a purse even though I already carry one that matches my foundation in my work bag but this one would work in a pinch.

Too Faced- Hangover Replenishing Face Primer

I like Too Faced though I haven’t bought many of their products in the last year or so, but I have been seeing this primer in Ulta and Sephora for at least a few years now (I can’t actually remember when it came out) and being someone who doesn’t wear a lot of primer I am excited to try it, again I never know if one of these products will find itself at holy grail status after giving it a try. My one issue with this is the sample size, I know it is a sample but something just slightly larger would be better because then you could give it a full week or more trial to make sure you actually liked it before committing upwards of $30 to a product that isn’t what you want.

So overall I really liked my Glam Bag this month, I am hoping that next month the trend continues, I really hope that my Glam Bag Plus next month is on the upswing as well but only time will tell so until next time if you want to read any of my other Glam Bag posts just click on the ipsy hashtag or the ipsy glam bag hashtag down below!

Do you subscribe? Did you get any amazing products this month? Tell me about it!

I’ll see everyone in a few days with a new post, so until then I hope your next few days are great!

            Bye!

                        -MJ
