What was in my July ipsy Glam Bag?

It’s that time again, I got my July ipsy Glam Bag in the mail yesterday and I could not wait to rip into it and see what I got. I must say the tracking information on this package was sparse and normally it is not, it also took a really long time to get to my apartment but I am not blaming that on anyone, just making an observation. I will have posted three Glam Bag unbaggings this month but hopefully in the foreseeable future I will only be posting one a month, because let’s be real three is a lot to post in one month. I unbagged May and June earlier in the month, if you want to read those you can click on the month and read them for yourselves.

Moving on from that though, I was so excited for this bag the moment I got the email that it was on its way. I just wish, this is my only complaint with ipsy’s emails, that they wouldn’t show you the items so close to the top of the email in case you want to be surprised by it. I like the surprise aspect of it all and I knew one of the items I was getting long before I got it. I like being able to make the informed decision whether or not to have what’s in my bag spoiled for me but sometimes the formatting of their emails don’t really give me a choice but to be partially spoiled.

On to the bag, first of all I love this bag. I think it is my favorite so far it is blue holo. (Yes it is holo, it gives off rainbows in the light don’t come for me.) The picture doesn’t really do it justice though; it is much prettier in real life. From the picture online I just thought it was a shiny blue, I honestly thought it was going to be plastic but it’s a soft almost pleather feeling material. I love getting a bag every month because it just adds more bags for me to use when I need to take the small essentials with me on trips.

On to the items that I got in the bag this month.

1: IBY Beauty Eyeshadow Fluff Brush: I will say the same thing every time I love getting new brushes, I never know when to buy new brushes nor do I know what to buy so I like having someone pick brushes out for me. It is a synthetic brush that is vegan and cruelty-free according to the description on the ipsy website. I am looking forward to using this brush, it is nice and soft which I am a huge fan of.

2: Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner: I am so bad at eyeliner, like I would love to do a wing and not have it everywhere on my face by the time I am finished. I used to use a crayon liner before liquid liner was popular and to me that was so much easier to use than a liquid liner. I have not worn eyeliner since about 2008, it’s been like ten years because I cannot do it to save my life, I keep trying to do it properly but to be real, I need professional help in that department. I like eyeliner, I used to wear a lot of it so it would be nice to do it again, though I wear glasses so eyeliner normally goes unnoticed. I don’t know how people can do a perfect wing every time, I applaud you.

3: Pure Heals by Nature Village Pore Clear Black Charcoal Peel Off Mask: I have never done a peel off mask beyond pore strips for your nose. I have been wanting to try a charcoal peel off mask for over a year now since it has been such a trend all over the internet. They are so good for your skin from what I have heard. This product is from a brand that I haven’t heard of but I am excited to try it. From the description on the ipsy website it is a K-Beauty brand which again K-Beauty is becoming/ has been a huge trend for quite some time now and I am here for it.

4: Half Caked Lip Fondant in the shade Girl Crush: Wow is this red! It’s so red you guys, it may not be a color for me but I am excited to try it to see what I think of it. To be honest I am not a huge fan of the color, it’s a bit too loud for me and I swatched it and it’s so bright. It will take a certain makeup look and even a certain skin tone, my skin is pale enough that it would almost look like those candy lips you get at Halloween. The brand seems really interesting; I love the packaging but the color just isn’t for me. I will keep it in my collection for now for maybe more intense and crazy looks, maybe Halloween. I think this is the first product that I haven’t liked from my ipsy Glam Bags since I started getting them in April. Granted I know that not all products are going to hit the marks and this was definitely one of those products.

5: Ella Eden single pot eyeshadow in the shade Harmony:  This is the last product, I love the color I can almost equate it to a rose gold or a peachy rose color and it looks amazing. Again, I swatched it and I am looking forward to using this shade it is very summer and I am excited to actually use it in a makeup look. I still don’t know how I feel about single put shadows because I have bought so many palettes in recent memory, but I can understand the need of them for travel purposes and also for sample products because if the product is good then there is a good chance that other products will be purchased from the company. (How many times can I type product in a sentence before it gets annoying? Three, then it gets annoying.) I’m excited to try it out though and see if it as long wear as some of the other shadows that I have.

For the most part I loved all of the products that I got in this month’s Glam Bag. I am looking forward to using the products as well as looking forward to what I will get in my bag next month.

If you subscribe what did you get this month and what did you think?
